I just got this knife in today's mail from the nice people at GPKNIVES. I am not a big fan of "flipper" type knives and I am a "Spyderco" guy. That being said I was blown away by the quality and features of this knife. I can not believe how smooth this knife opens . The blade is super sharp and well centered. The grips are "sand earth" color with a neat design not unlike custom scales. Very "grippy". The blade is a stonewash 154CM. Pocket Clip is close to end of scale so a lot of knife is not exposed in pocket. At the price point of this knife I don't know how they did it. All I can say is Benchmade hit a "Home Run" on this one.

Waiting on mine. Thanks for the review. Does it need a little wrist flick for the flipper to get past the Axis?

Do you any pics you could post?

Guess I could go to GPKnives and check it out:p

The few vids I have seen make it looks exceptionally thick for a knife with a 3 inch blade. The blade HQ shows it being the same width as a BM MPR!!

Waiting for mine.

I keep looking at BladeHQs video on Youtube...excited!!!

Looks interesting, but too short and stubby for me. I'll stick to my spyderco southard...I know the price difference is a big factor but the southard really is that good.

Wow! Hadn't heard about this one! Both Spyderco and Benchmade releasing a flipper at basically the same time? Maybe the end of the world IS comming!

Thanks for doing this video vege taco. I was hoping someone would do a video and show that the knife will flip just fine without all the wrist action. The detent is a little softer due to the axis lock but I can flip it in any direction.I have been very happy to see all the comments and reviews. THANKS to all.

I really like the BM Flipper. I was happy that I got to handle a few, but since I had already spent my budget on a Kershaw Knockout and a Cryo, I had nothing in the kitty for BM 300 SN. I will say that if you are a Kershaw fan like me, that this knife is dimensionally similar to the Kershaw RAM except that it is thicker. I would also say that workin the RAM lock is pretty similar to the Axis lock although the closing of the Axis lock is smoother. I will have to content myself with my RAM until I can pickup a BM 300 SN of my own. I know many have complained that this knife is too small, but for me, the size is perfect. 3.5-4" knives are something I can't take to work nor can I really use them publicly in the circles in which I run. To most non-knife people, a knife with a blade a hair over 3" and a OAL around 7.5" is huge. I think this Ball Axis knife looks unique, and wouldn't change anything about it.

Looking into getting one of these. What's the average wait time once I pre-order? By or before Christmas? Thinking of giving one of these to a family member as a Christmas gift.
