Hello Everyone. I realize that this is a very open-ended topic, but here it goes. I am considering the purchase of a BM330. I travel quite often, and I would like to carry a pocketknife which will not attract the attention of airport security and is light enough to carry in Dockers. The BM330 would seem to fit the bill, but it seems very expensive for such a small knife. I paid less money for my mini-afck! I also have concerns regarding its durability. I am open to any suggestions. Many thanks!

I've got two of these (G-10 and Mother of Pearl). Both are solid little knives and maybe the most blade you can get in that small a package.

Agreed there's not just a few good knives that are cheaper, but you're paying for the smaller size, the integral titanium slab lock and a Mel Pardue design (I call this my micro-Sebenza

)

I don't know how well it'll pass thru airport security (it's small enough to hang on your keychain), but I haven't any doubts about the durability.

This was the first expensive knife (higher than $35) that I ever bought also, and I still have it.

If you want an airport knife, this is it! I almost always travel with a BM 330. It is very inoffensive looking and since it is a liner lock, non-knife people will probably think its a slip joint knife and ignore it. This is concern because some airports don't allow lockblades and lockbacks are more obvious. I think that that this is a very solid knife and it is capable of doing whatever work you could reasonably expect to do with a knife this size. Still, I think it is important to note that this knife is advertised as a gent's knife and not a heavy duty folder. One more bit of advice, if you want this knife for airline travel, get the plain blade,serrated blades tend to draw negative attention even on small knives. (Although I never have problems with my 50/50
Ladybug.)

I just wanted to thank everyone for their valuable input. I feel very confident that a BM330 would be a good addition to my Benchmade collection!

I'm not sure if my previous reply was received, so I would like to thank everyone again for the great advice. I have had such a good experience with my other Benchmade Knives, that I should feel a little more confident about purchasing the BM330. Thanks again!
