Benchmade 3550 Auto lock strenght

I used to have a 3550 I lost, I'd like another for nostalgia and to use as a edc but I'm wondering if the lock on it is actually a good lock and wether it would stand up to the increased amount of abuse I expect my knives to handle since only using fixed blades for a number of years.

Is the 3550 tough or does the auto and locking mechanism make it weak?

I'll probably be buying one anyway, as it fits really nicely in my hand but would like to know how rough I can be with it.
