I am the original and only owner of this balisong. I bought it when I was 18 so almost 10 years ago. I flipped it quite a bit the first year and havent really touched it in the last nine or so.... Now I want to buy a new rifle so I figure I can part with it. I am not a knife collector, so please bear with me as I try to explain the condition and quality. If Im doing it wrong or you want more info or pictures of a certain thing just let me know. And yes im a gold member, it wont let you post here without being one.

I would say the knife is in amazing shape, and yes I know they are discontinued. I carried the knife in the upgraded kydex holster wich will be included. The knife is sharp and has never been dropped. there are slight marks on the blade from cutting tape and stuff but no major dings, dents, bends, or scratches. It was never used to cut anything hard like wood. The holster is reversable, I like to carry it in front of me and draw right handed, but it works just as well behind you, on your side, or lefty.

Im asking $325 for the knife shipped in the united states. I have paypal, otherwise Im ok with money orders or chasheirs checks. no credit cards please unless its through paypal.

Lastly I posted this before and recieved lots of interest from people who never paid or were not 18 years old. Please only serious inqueries.

Matt

What steel is it, and how much play in the pivots?

Thank you.

I guess I dont know how to tell, i know the handles are titanium. It doesnt have any marking on the blade that look like steel ID's. It jus says Bali-song over a butterfly logo on one side with a little "42" under the butterfly. on the other side of the blade it just says Benchmade U.S.A.

I guess I dont know if there is a standard way to check the pivot, so I'll give you a few diffrent numbers. When the knife is closed (but unlatched) I can move the handles approximately 1/8th " side to side. If I open the knife halfway (handles in a straight line) the side to side travel is about a 1/4th". Thats if I lay the knife on its side on a flat table, pin one hanlde down and lift up the other. The end of the lifted handle is about 1/4" off the table. In the fully open position the handles can be moved about 1/8" out of position if you push them each the oposing directions, s0 1/16th each way. The blade had NO PLAY when the knife is open and in the latched position.

Also it appears it can be ajusted with a star drive bit? I guess I dont know for sure, I have never tried, but it looks like you could just tighten the screws if you wanted the handles tighter. As is it flips fine and doesnt rub or rattle at all, so I havent thought of ajusting it.

Thanks for the questions,
Matt
