benchmade 440c, how well it takes toothy edge?

Kind of a vague question.

What other steels have you used that you could compare it to?

What level of performance do your require?

Are you having sharpening troubles?

Are you proficient in sharpening?

Do you own said knife?

If so, use it and tell us about your experience. Maybe then we can have a point of reference.

I do not own the knife, and am proficient in sharpening. What im interested in is the quality of Benchmades 440c, how well it holds edge, and how aggressive is it compared to aus8a, s30v , 1095 and similar steels.Im not talking about s90 or s110v.

I am planning to get manix 2 in s110v but its sold out everywhere, and am looking for aggressive slicer of a knife.Sharpening is not a problem as I can get almost any knife hair whittling sharp.Never tried or have any experience with any knife in 440c , but read its aggressive cutting steel. Also love high hollow grinds and just love looks of ultra lite presidio.

When I think of aggressive cutting I think more about the edge applied. Finishing anything at 220 grit will make a aggressive cutting edge. Coarse edges on high alloy steels like S110V will yield aggressive cutting edges, so your on the right track with steels.
