I love smaller knives, particularly Benchmades with less than 3" blades. I found it easier to carry and to handle for basic edc duties. 480 shoki and 440 opportunist top my list. they are both s30v steel, just under 3" blade, light in pocket & beautiful to look. very different blade shape and feel however.
which one do you like better? & why?

I've got a 480-1. The Nak-Lok is probably the weakest lock offered by Benchmade.

Other than a chintsy lock, it really is a beautiful knife.

I only have a 440 and its an amazing little knife. When I first opened it I thought it was assisted, it is the best opening benchmade I own.

A couple of weeks ago I was able to buy a 440 Opportunist from a member of this forum. I have to agree with Jastab that it is a great little knife and I find myself frequently picking it over my 470-1 Emissary for office EDC. It is a very smooth and fast opener but what I love the most is the color and texture of the aluminum scales. I'm not sure what color to call the anodized Al as it's somewhere between gunmetal gray and purple. I just know it's a very cool little folder.

As for the 480/480-1 Shoki, I've never seen one in person but I would eventually like to find one of those as well. I've held a 482 Megumi and really liked it although it is a bit too small. I bet the Shoki would be just right.
