Looking for a hard use knife and like the Axis lock and reversible clip on Benchmade since I am a leftie and a BM fan.
What are your opinions on the 520 and 275? The 520 has M4 steel and the 275 has D2. I have worked with both and like both.
Thanks!

Take note that the 520 in that thread has a heavily modified/re-ground blade.

I like my 520sbk, it's smaller profile and has the blade and handle shape I prefer... but that's just me. I think that how it feels in hand in use should be the primary deciding factor here...
Those 520 handle scales are rough and tough, but they'll tear up weak fabric on a pocket pretty quick so you might prefer the 275's G10 or the 522's scales if that is a concern. My $0.02

Nice review. Thanks!

The 520 is a underrated knife. It's got one of best handles on a production knife. I especially like the way the handle flares out towards the blade, thus preventing slippage of the hand towards the blade. The bidirectional milling on the handle provide great grip even with gloves. Only downside is, that they're tough on the pockets. A problem easily solved if carried in a belt sheath.

Another minus is, that its a bot heavy and the all-metal construction can get cold to the touch during cold winters. The aluminum scales scuffle easily too, but that dosent mind as it begs to be used. A member on here sandblasted his 520's scales. It looks absolutely wicked!

The droppoint bladeshape is a winner too and works great for edc cutting tasks.

The Presidio is a solid knife that dosent get the credit it deserves. The looks are subtle but it can perform with the best of the hard-use knives.

I'm.sure the Adamas is a good knife too, but I haven't handled one, so I won't comment on it.

I like the 520, a friend has the auto version and it's the proverbial tank. Nice thing about the Presidio is if you ever come into owning the full sized Bone Collector you can switch out the scales/blade. I've never handled the Adamas but you won't be "under knifed" with the 520.

The Presidio is a sweet knife and in my opinion a better general carry compared with the behemoth Adamas. Be warned that the Presidio scales will suck the life out of your pockets, whereas the Adamas scales are smooth and easy on jeans.

They are both fantastic knives and you can't miss with either if you don't mind bulk.
