Benchmade 53 is in!!!!

Well the mail man has brought me a couple wonderful presents over the weekend. One of them is a 125th anniversary vic climber, the other is the benchmade 53. both are pictured with the bm940 =)

i gotta ask, whats the best way to force patina bm d2??? i'd like to darken my 53 some
 
Nice man looks like an awesome new design. The first balisong that I'm actually considering buying.
 
yeah, i'm loving it so far... rides kind of wide in the pocket, but since i've tried clipping it in the back pocket i can't tell its there, so there it will stay :D
 
How do you like the curved handles? I like the flat grind, but not sure on the handle shape and color.
 
i'm a huge fan of the olive drab, as for the curve, its surprisingly comfortable. the lock bar does kind of poke the pad of my hand when in but other than that it sits right in my hand... i'll post pictures :D
 
been interested in this one, glad to see it's finally hitting the market.

is there any play in the handles with the new ball bearing pivots? and is the latch spring loaded?

no play whatsoever... but the latch is not spring loaded. which i thought was a problem when i started playing with it but pulling it out of your pocket, your fingers just fall right on the latch and it opens much easier coming out of your pocket than it does just playing with it.
