I had read many people call this knife flimsy and poorly built. A couple people even regretted buying it - I ordered one anyway.

Its plastic, its light and Im sure due to those attributes not as durable as other BM knifes. For daily use (for me) I will take light and thin and give up a titch of duarbility. Its still a Benchmade, it still has a great warranty. I still consider it a well made knife, just not as "tank-like" as other BM knifes.

I did not experience any of the "handle-flex" others experience in my daily use. My daily use is opening packages, kids toys, letters etc - nothing substantial. The axis-lock worked VERY roughly out of the box. I titch of militec and some knife-sterbating fixed that. It now opens just as smooth as my other BM (model 525).

I really like the look of the spear-point blade. Mine showed a few rough machining lines verticaly in the blade, nothing massive just some slightly visible lines. Its just as sharp as my other BM knifes.

Overall I would say if your looking to add another BM knife to your collection and your main concerns is for a thin and light knife for light duty daily use you cannot go wrong with this knife. If your uses are more heavy duty you may experience flexing and other concerns due to the lack of a full liner (it terminates halfway thru the handle).

I enjoy mine and its a steal at only $56 thru New Graham. Its was my first NG order and it wont be my last - this IS the place to order a BM knife from (or any other brand they carry). Great prices, great service.....great place to order a great knife.

I bought one of these for a friend. After three months I saw it again, and was surprised at how well the edge did. There were only specks of light when reflecting the the sun.

Yes, these are crazy light. Immediately after handling this, a mini-Grip will feel like a brick. But because the blade is thin and because of the spear grind, the blade doesn't have enough mass to flick well.

Because of the swell at the end of the thumbstuds, you can put a small sized zip-tie on each of the studs, making a more reliable "wave" than those involving holes in the blade.
