Ok, so i just received my 530 today and it wasnt loctited so i was doing it to all the screws and then i got to the blade stop screws... I unscrewed the left screw with no problems but then i got the right screw out about half way and then it stopped unscrewing and the blade stop itself started to spin. I realize this is my fault and im not complaining, but is there any suggestions as to what i could do???

Thanks,
Zach

Well, Benchmade will cover you, but did you put Loc-Tite on ALL the screws?? Usually that's overdoing it. I only use the stuff on the pivot bolt (when necessary)...anyway you're saying the left set screw come out but the right doesn't? Have you tried a little tape on the end of a pair of needlenose pliers so it (the stop pin) doesn't spin?

See if you can get a torx bit to hold the screw on one side in place while unscrewing the other side. At this point it sounds like both sides are loosened just enough so there's not enough pressure and it's just turning and not actually unscrewing. If you don't have another torx bit you can try holding the spacer with needle nose pliers as stated above.

I find it easier just to press the sharpened edge of the blade against a soft rag-- the leverage puts enuf pressure on the spinning sleeve to lock it in place, allowing you to remove the screw.

I've used an old phone book in the past to get some tension. Good trick.

Thanks R., I tried that trick and it works nicely!
