I like this knife a lot what do you think about it? I'm a construction worker that uses my knife a lot for boxes and tape rope ect. Does the blade have any play back and fourth up or down.steel liners? I assume not please let me know guys.

I won a 530 in a contest here on BF a few weeks ago, its a fantastic heavy duty build on a light use slicing knife, the one thing i would say, is that seeing as you are a construction worker, it might be a bit thin for anything more than light slicing

if you want a knife thats almost as light with the same cutting power, the 555 minigrip or 550 griptillian from benchmade are both fantastic knives for that kind of use

if you really want a workhorse, there is no better knife that i have handled than the MANIX 2 from spyderco, at a mere $80, its one of the best built knives ive ever handled, i use and abuse mine miles past the point that any other knife would have failed, its really worth checking out

Cheers!

Thank you I carry my griptilian every day I'm looking for one I can wear when I dress up but still can handle the work load

For dress and lighter duty chores the 530 will be a good knife for you. It's very sturdy and the blade's capable of a very sharp edge due to it's thinness. I've had one or two over the years and never wasn't able to cut what I wanted with it, yet could slip it into either shorts or a dress jacket for formal events.

I owned one once, but traded it (and regret it). That knife is amazingly thin and light, yet seems to handle any normal cutting task with ease. The one thing I didn't like is that the end of the handle is not rounded and it isn't the most comfortable knife because of this but it's not a deal breaker type hot-spot. I found that I usually never held the knife in a hammer-grip anyway because of it's thinness. The slicing ability of a .090" thick blade (and only that thick at only a single point to boot) is quite amazing. I have been looking to pick up another and saw that blue one and really liked it (looks like the same plastic/color used in the blue Griptilians). Not only is it blue, but it's also S30V, still not sure if that warrants $130 for a plastic knife...

I agree on the price not sure if I really want to spend 130 on it just got back from rei and I handled it I'm don't know if I can spend 130 on it. I've got big hands and it felt sorta awkward in hand.but it sure is pretty I might have to think about it. Now the question is should I go to spyderco for a s30v for cheaper and suffer beauty for a lower price?? I love benchmades though hmmmm
