The Benchmade Griptilian model 550 is one of my personal favourites. It's a great knife for everyday use and is very lightweight and the Axis lock is a big plus.

The 550 with a plain edge is one of my favorite knives, and I've been carrying it since I first got it a couple months ago or so. It has excellent edge geometry and the tip is reinforced for strength. The axis lock is great and the operation is very smooth.

IMO the BM 550 is one of the best knives for the money.

I also agree that the 550 is a great buy. Lot's of knife for the money. Stronger than the 940 I have.

I'd prefer a plain edge but part serrated 550 I have is scary sharp and comfortable to hold.

I'd like to see BM add other blade styles to the 550 format.

Yes roshi they do make other style blade it is called the bm 551 and yes it is shiping. here is a link to the pic on bm's forum http://www.benchmade.com then good the forum under subject updates. Thanks for all the input now I will have to try one out myself before I buy it.

P.s. I would have attached a pic but I am not able to do so it would have been easyer

It represents excellent value for the money. The Axis lock is very smooth and the steel (440C) is good. Some have criticized the "hollowness"of the handles, but keep in mind this is a $60 knife, not in the $120 range.

I agree, the 550 is my edc for work. I like the blade design as it makes for a strong tip.
