That's one of the reasons that I carry a Griptilian in my firejacket. The thumb studs/opening hole are just one way of opening the knife.

Agreed! I wear the thick welding gloves in the video a lot when working around the house and carrying steel around, bricks and found it difficult to open knives at the beginning using them. IMO if I can open a knife with them them any other glove I wear wont be a problem.
