Benchmade 551 help

hello guys i have a slight but extremely stupid problem... i was adjusting the star/hex screw on my benchmade 551 and well i tightened it to a point where the blade will not open. hopefully im not the only one that have done this before
and help or suggestions to loosen this up

o two things that i forgot to add: is i did not use the proper tool to tighten it anyway... ie a hex screw and i already contacted Benchmade and they are going to send me an extra screw

Maybe I'm missing something... but couldn't you just loosen the screw (turn it counter-clockwise)? Or did you strip the head on the pivot screw itself? i tightened the screw to tight to unscrew with normal pressure and in my feeble attempts to unscrew it caused the screw to strip

If you have a Dremel handy, cut a slot into the screw with a cut-off disk and loosen the screw with a flat screwdriver.

I would send it back to Benchmade and beg for mercy.

It's a T10 Torx head screw. If you get the right tool, you may be able to loosen it.
