Does anyone know if the Benchmade 551H2O Griptilian has different hardware than a regular Grip?
Specifically, are the Omega springs any different?

I have written Benchmade twice this year asking this question and have gotten no response.

Anybody out there taken theirs apart to compare the guts?

Thanks

I believe only the blade steel is different. All the hardware is the same, as other Grips.

What RxEnery said. I wish they would have used Ti on the hardware and clip. Guess I'll just stick with the Spyderco Salt series.

I know the blade steel is different.

No offense guys, but theory and conjecture wasn't what I was looking for.

Has anyone heard from Benchmade with a definitive answer on the springs and hardware?

Does anyone own this knife? If you do, have you taken it apart to see if there is any difference in the looks of the springs?

I can speculate as well as the rest of you, but I would really like to hear from people who:

A-own the knife
B-have taken it apart and can report what they see.
or:
C-have heard from Benchmade on the specifics

Thanks

Over on the Benchmade forum, someone reported that Benchmade said the internals are the same as a regular Griptilian.

I didn't ask for 'good guesses'.
I can do that all by myself.

I asked specific questions and received generic answers.

I don't participate in discussions pertaining to specific questions with responses like, "I think" or "maybe", if the OP wants just the facts.

If you don't know for sure, then don't answer.

Gee, was that abrasive to you?

I'm sorry.

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm being facetious, but I'd suggest calling Benchmade. They seem unresponsive to email as of late. I sent them an email as a DEALER over the summer and never got a response. The shop I work at is seasonal, too, so time is of the essence with us. I was...less than happy about that. Still love their product though.

Get your panties out of a wad.

I think the OP's reaction may have been a little much, but it was certainly valid. He received answers of the sort that he said he WASN'T looking for--certainly a frustrating thing! Snarky remarks don't help the community. I'd hope sincerely that this whole thing can calm down and get happily back on track. :)
