I just bought a 581 on a whim and this thing cuts like crazy! I just have a Question on toughness. I understand that m390 is crazy tough but that is a relatively thin blade. I don't plan on abusing this knife, but i do want to use the crap out of it and was wondering if I should watch out for that blade. any thing is appreciated, especially anything first hand.
Thanks
Paul

As with any thin-bladed knife, don't try to use it as a pry bar. Don't use it as a screw driver. Don't try to open a locked bathroom door with it and get it stuck in the wrong spot when you twist as that will definitely chip the blade (ask me how I know). If you use it for slicing, it's going to go a long, long way for you. Zip ties? Piece of cake. Cardboard? The more the merrier. Use it to cut little saplings out of the ground? Go for it. Open up all the plastic blister packages you can throw at it. Hose, seat belt webbing, denim, vegetable-tanned leather, etc... I would not use it to drive in nails, however.
