I just picked up one of these to go along with my BM Rukus 610. I had a Skirmish a while back but gave it to a very good friend of mine who has loved it ever since. This time around I wanted to get a black bladed model and stumbled onto this one after seeing it on the BM website as a variation of the original 630. If you don't know, this is the all black version with bright blue dots. Looks really sharp...pun intended......AND is really sharp. The coating is the new poly-ceramic coating that Benchmade calls BK-1 or BenchKote. I've seen and had black handled knives which left something to be desired as far as the coating went, but was pleasantly surprised when I took this one out of the box and saw the even, flat black coating of both handle and blade. The blue dots are a medium blue in color and really give the 630 a very cool but subdued look.

One thing I had thought before getting this knife was that the 420/610 foldover clip might fit in place of the clip the 630 comes with. I had a clip that I had replaced because it had gotten bent. I straightened it out, the bend wasn't too bad, and tried it on the 630. It is not a perfect fit, but a little judicious grinding with my trusty Dremel tool provided a perfect fit in minutes. Of course where I had to grind, I now have bare metal but it is fairly well covered up since the clip fits into an indention on the handle. The clip looks great on the 630 and the black matches the rest of the knife. The clip also allows deeper carry of the 630 so that only about 1/8" of the handle is sticking out of your pocket.

Don't have a picture of the actual knife but here is a picture of a 630BK-503, courtesy of American Heritage who btw has the best pic of this particular knife I've seen!
