Just ordered one of these rascals, needed a steel
fix and have liked the Apparition profile
but wondered how thin the edge was on these models?

Anybody have one they can take a shot of and
show how it's ground down, like a shot like this
of the Rukus I took a while back;

I did a search for this knife but not a lot of chat about it on here
also posted on the bm forum but no replies.

Please feel free to post any images you have of this model!
Thanks in advance,

Gary, I don't have my camera handy right now but I have my 672 laying beside my 615 mini-ruckus. I'm no expert but the Ruckus looks flat ground and the Apparaition is hollow. The edge profile is very similar. My 672 has ridden in my front pocket now for about 3 months. It has earned a spot at the very top of my edc list. In fact, when I'm carrying something else, I''ll often carry the 672 as well. I guess you could say I really like this knife. Of course, the D2 takes and holds a marvelous edge.

Hey, that's good to hear, as it will be at least until Friday or so before it can
reach my house. I had the original Apparition as well as the micarta scaled one
and the original was flat ground but thick edged, while the upper scaled micarta
one was flat ground but had a much thinner edge, better cutter, so I was hoping
that would be the case with the G10 model.
Love that blade shape, very handy for lots of occasions!

Thanks for the reply!

Gary, After reading then posting to your thread, I visited my favorite retailer, Mr. Dye and purchased another BM Apparaition. I like this knife that much. This one will go in the knife drawer to be passed on to my son in a few years. The original one will continue to be used heavily and I see no reason that it will not also be passed on with a slightly "smaller" blade than it came with.

Thanks, nice shot!
Mine should arrive by mid week, which is better than I hoped for!

She arrived today, not too sharp, surprisingly so and a little stiff on the closing
but, sharp she be now, wasn't the hard part :) very very sharp !

Closing still stiff, but I figure that will work itself in, kinda like on that show
'Are you being Served?' the sleeves will ride up with wear...;)

On the whole, I love it! This is the blade shape for me and the grip is just right
in size and shape, the G10 could be a tad grippier (real word?) but otherwise
it will do just fine, a bit lighter that the original but still a solid feel to the knife.

Pics to come as I get time, have to travel to Clearwater soon and have
some cow to slice up before I leave!

Here are a few quick shots,

love the blade shape

Edge is ground fairly thin, could be thinner but that's a compromise

Like the handle shape, and that there are no sharp edges of the tang of the knife when closed;
