Hi all
wow first post as a member after lurking for six months! (cue fireworks, etc.)

I'm a big Benchmade fan and recently I've been eyeing the 690 as a new EDC (to switch up with my 730). What are your thoughts on this knife? How about the carbon fiber body? Will it hold up to every day use?

Any advise you all can give me would be great!

Yowza! I was just typing about these in another thread! The 690 looks great! The one I've got is just about PERFECT, especially for a mass produced knife. The linerlock engages just right, you cannot feel the transition from CF bolster to wood scale, and the blade centers in the handle when closed. It is however, smaller than the 730, too small in my opinion to use for defense when compared to a knife like the 730. Also, it is not ambidextrous if that is a concern for you. You wouldn't have any trouble with the CF and titanium, but the wood scales might get dinged up with heavy use.

damn, my bad, should have seen that earlier post about the 690 at the bottom of the page. So much for my first post
