Yes, the 705 is just beginning to trickle into the sort of distributor channels that feed Net dealers. Here's the 705 "Baby Bear" to arrive, next to its "Papa Bear" 710.

The 710 we know and love. The 705 has the same smooth action with a shorter non-recurved blade, and is possibly 10 times as sturdy as a knife with a three finger grip needs to be. I wonder if we could use a "mama bear" size.

There is also the matter of the distance between the pivot and the actual lock, which is shorter on the smaller knife. Which is reasonable, as the blade is shorter too, and as far as I can make out exactly in proportion to the smaller pivot-lock distance. So as far as I can make out, when it comes to how much force (not torque) you can apply to the blade, they're just as strong.
