Alright, I'm pretty much sold on getting a knife with an axis lock. Everyone seems to think that its not only strong and reliable but also very user friendly. I've narrowed it down to either a 720 or a 705. I like the overall profile of the 705 a little better, but I think the size of the slightly larger 720 might work better for me. Especially when I am thinking about going with a combo edge, so the added blade length would be good, if I get a 705 it will be plain edge.
What it really narrows down to is the handles though. I want something slim I can clip in my back pocket. The 720 looks pretty bulky, but I can't find any pictures of the spine to see if its thick, or if it just has a wide profile. I kind of like the looks of the aluminum handles better than the G10, which in the pictures I've seen has a pretty rough finish. So how thick is the 720 ? Will it be like I'm jamming a brick into my back pocket?
One more thing, how big are benchmade's serrations? I don't have any experience with their knives. Of all the brands I've handled, only spyderco had large enough serrations for me to sharpen them successfuly with a diamond rod. Are the serrations on benchmade knives comparable to the ones on spyderco knives?
Thanks again.
