You know the 705/707 are not, in fact, bigger than your Para?
The 705/707 feel compeletely different from the 710 - I don't see them competing with each other, because they do such different jobs.
The 710 is a BIG folder, a serious cutter with a significant recurve. For a folder, it's a good fighter (OK, whatever that means.

)
The 705/707 are bulletproof utility/gents knives, but they are small knives. For a three inch blade, they have fairly small handles. My 705 can take an insane amount amount of abuse, and within its size limit it cuts very well. But (in my personal experience - there are definitely people who disagree with me here) it doesn't have the handle for either serious leverage and bearing down or a day of serious, hand-squeezing cutting.
I love Benchmades, and I agree you should have one.

I think maybe the question you should be asking yourself is do I want a knife that can handle the work but is small enough not to get me looked at, like a 707, 770, or 960, or do I want a knife that really fills the hand and has a blade that will take on anything, but in some jurisdictions can get you some grief, like a 710, 730, 805 or 806.
If you want a small Axis for working hard, despite the plastic appearance I'd look hard at a mini-Grip, especially in D2 or S30V.
Sorry if this isn't the kind of advice you wanted. If you're really torn between a 705/707 and a 710, I think figuring out why you want this knife and what you'll do with it will push you very hard one way or the other.
Of course my personal answer is the 705 or 770 for sheeple (office, downtown), the 730 for serious work, the 750 for abusive work, and the 921 or 940 for in between. But that's a serious chunk of change I have tied up in my options.
