I buy mostly traditonal knives, but I do have a few the new tactical folders. I have one Cold Steel, one Spyderco and I just bought a Benchmade. I really like the feel and build of the Benchmade, and I looked at their site for more knives.

I saw a really nice looking knife on their forum, a 710-01 WineWood:

WOW, I really like that knife. So I looked up the 710 on the Benchmade site:
http://www.benchmade.com/products/product_detail.aspx?model=710

AND I don't see the knife. So I have 2 questions.

1.) Is their such a knife as a 710-01 WineWood?

2.) If there is, where in the heck can I buy one?

There is such a knife as a 710-01. Their were about 300 made (numbered xxx/300) as well as 50 in the prototype run (numbered prototype xx/50 2002) It was a limited production produced sometime in 2002. Good luck trying to find one they fetch quite a premium when they do sell. The last one sold for $330 and that wasn't even an auction. Out of all my benchmades my twin 710-01 prototypes would be the last to go. They are very nice, and very unique. Reminds me of a upgraded, modern buck 110. Did i mention they come with a very nice sheath? Maybe post a wanted to buy ad, and good luck in your search! -BenchmadeNut

YIKES!!! I grabbed one about a year ago, and paid half that. Guess I got a good deal!! Mine wasn't exactly mint, and was even missing a screw, but I sent it to Benchmade for their LifeSharp service, and when I got it back, it was like a new knife. Did I mention Benchmade RAWKS? :D

To the OP, it's a great knife. The brass handles make it heavy as all git-out, but it's not intended to clip in your pocket.
