So this is my first Benchmade! I have collected dozens of zt/spyderco products and even a sebenza. So it's surprising I never got into benchmade even though I love the designs and I live in Oregon! Firstly, I ordered this knife maybe 4 months ago, and the first one had some problems. I was still under the 30 days return period so I sent it back to knife works and they sent me a new one after 3 weeks of waiting): Anyways this new one has been my main edc blade for awhile now and I love it! Only problem with this one is the pivot backs out very easy.. Even when I locktite it. Not a huge deal it usually gets through a day before blade play starts up. The knife came very sharp and was smooth out of box. The larger recurve blade is amazing even better with m390! I really dig the look of these new blue black handles! So all and all I am hooked. I am deciding currently between the 940 and the 940-1. Thank you for your time - Caleb

amazing beautiful pictures. I have been looking at the 710 for some time now your pictures may of put me over the edge.

I have about 75 folding knives, including several Benchmade, and the the 710 is by far my favorite. The D2 steel is great -holds a nice edge & is easy to sharpen. Well balanced, nice blade lock, and easy to open. I've carried mine for over three years without any problems.

I have 2 Benchmades, and one of them is a recent acquisition of this 710-1401. Love the ergonomics on the G10!! That is what sold me.

I had a regular 710 for a short time, and the main reason I let it go was that the G10 handles were too rough and tearing my pants up. I was not into trying to sculpt the handles, but I have a few new files to mimic the handles of this 710-1401. We'll see if I pick up another 710 to mess up.

This 710-1401 is a LOT of blade for the handle size, which is what I pretty much require in a knife. I was surprised at how well the knife sits in the pocket and doesn't get in the way. Mine had the blade tweaked to one side, so I sent it back and BM took care of the problem. Use your warranty and they will fix it. I'd replace the pivot pin, Caleb. You don't want to damage your lovely knife because of a loose pivot pin that costs $2.00.

Enjoy your knife, Caleb!

Caleb, get the 940-1. You should really love it. I think the 710-1401 and the 940-1 are a great pair together. The 710 for the size and heft when you want to carry a larger knife and the 940-1 when you want a light weight, discrete carry. Both both beautiful.
