I have noticed on my benchmade 710 that after I ran my blade over the sharmaker a few times it was nice and sharp. But it seemed to dull out some without any use. It was wierd. Then I realized what was happening.
Lots of times when I am on the phone, or reading or something I will pick it up and flip it open and closed.....ya know play with it. I have noticed that when it closes it shuts hard aginst the backspacer. I grabed my flashlight and looked in there and could see little lines in the backspacer where the belly of the blade was hitting. I secured a very small, thin piece of paper to the backspacer and then shut the knife......sure enough it was sliced right down the middle.
So my question is, "Is this normal?"..Is the belly of the blade supposed to hit againt that backspacer(shoot I hope I am calling the back part of the knife by the right name.) This doesnt seem right. It sucks because everytime I close my knife it gets alittle duller.

Nope, that's abnormal. I think you should send it to Benchmade for warranty repair; they'll fix it, or replace it.

My 710 had the same problem. I took the spacer out and sanded it down with a Dremmel, but that's a secret.
