Benchmade 710 on EPA

I'm thinking about getting a benchmade 710. I don't have any experience with recurves and was wondering if I would need to get the thinner stones to get good results or not. I also don't have any experience with d2. How well do the stock stones do with d2? I'm not trying to reprofile the knife or anything but would like to change angles if I wanted to. I'm using the kit that comes with the 120 through 1000 grit stones by the way.
Thanks

Ive had good luck using shapton stones on the EPA when sharpening my 710. When working inside the recurve i just slightly tilt the stone (around 10 degrees or so) and everything comes out fine. I can get a shaving sharp edge in around 10 minutes using a 3 stone progression.

No experience with the stock stones..

I've used EPA stock stones (220, 400, 1000 & 3000 grit tape) on a D2 Griptillion successfully. So far I've had no issues with the stock stones.
