Which of these do you prefer? I have handled a 710 and found it to be a nice knife, but I was a little disappointed in the ergonomics of the handle and ease of opening. I haven't been able to find a 750, but I have heard that it does allow a comfortable hold. I really don't see many comments about the 750 Pinnacle. Are there any problems with this knife? I am also open to other suggestions for this class of knife. Your comments are appreciated.:)

The 750 is out of production, but there are probably still some available. That said, it was, IMHO, a very good product by BM.

The 710, I think, is still the flagship model offered by BM.

I wouldn't get a 710 if it doesn't feel comfortable in your hand. You'll never be truly happy with it, which you should be at that price. The 750 was nice, but I didn't find the ergonomics to be any better than the 710, which happens to fit my hands well.

The 730 has very good ergonomics. I'm not big on the blade shape, but can't fault the handle one bit.

I've been playing with my 710 -just arrived yesterday- and found the most comfortable way of opening/shutting is by adjusting the central pivot 'just right', pulling back the axis-studs and flicking it open/closed; with the blade facing down and KEEP YOUR FINGERS OUT OF THE BLADE'S WAY -just in case you wouldn't think of that yourself :D

The 710 is a great, workmanlike knife; if the 750 weren't discontinued, I myself would have been in serious doubt which one to choose though.

My only complaint about 710 is that I would like to position my thumb forwards with relation to my forefinger in saber grip but the handle don’t allows.

My only complaint about 750 is that BENCHMADE is discontinued it.

Both are well designed and qualitatively made knives, you can’t go wrong with either. Try to handle both and choose the one you like better.

Serguiz:

Sure it does. Just slide the knife up in your hand until your thumb is where you want it.

The 750 or Less well built Sebenza copy as it is also known was one of the best knives BM ever built. True I had to look at several to find a good one, but a very good knife none the less. Not as good as a Benza, and yes I own both. I won't compare it to a Benza as that is like a Ford to a Ferrari... (they are both cars and can both be red)

The 710 in M2 is probably my fav BM knife, mine is a good one, well made. No complaints for once on this knife! (I have had bad experiences with BM and while I no longer shout about it, still avoid them as a brand)

Steve,
Maybe I didn’t formulated my though too precisely. I’m talking about dedicated area for thumb placement – so called thumb ramp. Of course it is possible to place the thumb where someone likes, even at the edge :)
I like 710 a lot and use it pretty frequently, mostly at home and going outdoors because it is a bit onto big side for daily urban carry. But Pinnacle and AFCK simply fit my hand somewhat better exactly in thumb placement area.

One thing more to precise – all the talk about saber grip. In hammer grip suitable for heavy cutting 710 handle works excellently for me unlike pretty good deal of tactical knife handles comfortable in saber grip only.

Try to handle knife before buying – this is the best advice I can give anyone starting in knife hobby. This is exactly knife stores and knife shows exist for ;)
