What would you recommend. I'm trying to decide between Benchamde 710SBKD2 and Nitrous Stryker 913SBKD2. I'm looking for grate durability and small size but also I don't want to loose it's tactical abilities. Or maybe something else from Benchmade would be better? But let's keep the price reasonable :)

I've owned a 710 since 1999...the old ATS-34 710 and it has been exceptional. It's one of the few knives I'll never sell. I don't have any experience with the other knife but I highly recommend the 710.

The 710's a classic and enough has been said about it in praise.

However, I own a 913 and a 907, and while I'm unsure about which knife is 'better', the Nitrous mechanism is very slick, esp. when it's worked in a little. I also prefer the Ares-style MDP blade. No recurve, either!

I had my 913 disassembled with washers polished and a militec treatment done, and it's as fast as could be to open, even compared to auto's I've owned.

So choose one, either way you can't lose. Then get the other later! :)

Benchmade 710 is clipped in my backpocket EVERYDAY!!! Will never part with it, that I can say for sure. One of the best knives I own and I own alot.

The 710 will take care of business thru thick and thin. I've had one in my pocket since 2001 and will have one in my pocket when I'm put in my grave.

I've got a 710 and it's my EDC, there are a lot of other knives I'd like to carry daily, but the price/performance ratio of the 710 is something I can't ignore.

If you get a 710 you won't regret it.

Militec is a lubricant that "penetrates" the metal when applied to the metal when warm, say 130-150 degrees F.

I usually loosen the pivot bolt (have some blue locktite 242/243 handy for retightening), drip in some Militec while opening and closing until any manufacturing dirt is gone, then set the knife under a lamp for a few hours (overnight works). Some people put the knife in an oven.

Seems to smooth things out.
