benchmade 730 ares handle swap/recolor?

I recently won a benchmade 730 sbt ares. I love the knife in all respects except the color of the handles. Do you guys know will benchmade allow me to purchase other scales for the knife, and if not, is it advisable to paint g10?

I mailed BM about a similar thing a while ago, and they said, yes, they would do it, but ... when I worked out the cost (postage and their bill) I realised that I may as well trade the knife or buy a new one.

I put my knife up for trade but no-one was interested. (Ares as well)
