After much deliberation, I just pulled the trigger on a BM 741 Onslaught PE Satin. I did this for a couple of reasons. First, out of all the different locking mechanisms I have tried, I prefer the Axis Lock for it's security and ease of use. Second, while it has taken me a while to warm up to Bob Lum designs, the Onslaught gave me an "Ahhh, now I get it." moment.

You can find some comparison pictures to Bob's original custom Forrester on Tony Wang's Forest of a Hundred Lums website. Enjoy. :)

Beautiful design. I really like all of Bob's work almost - don't like the current tanto BM with the Ti handle, I forget the name. Other than that model, I think he had the Midas Touch for beautifully simple lines. So very smooth and such, the Chinese and others.

I only wish this new one was a 3-3.5" blade though, just cause as is it's way too big for me, but it's great to have on the market for people who want to and can carry such large knives. Perhaps they'll release a mini one day!

God I love that blade design but that big, nasty honkin clip kills it for me. Great knife though maybe STR will make a lowrider for it.
