benchmade 750 ???

Not bad, but there are sooooooo many good knives in that price range. Have you considered the 720?

if you like it, buy it. i have one and another on its way. i wasn't really a fan when i first saw it, but i've been converted. it's got a great blade shape, nice handle and the weight of the handle gives it a feeling of confidence. i like it so much that i'm considering a sebenza, even at their price. just a warning, my last three benchmades came pretty dull, so consider sharpening time mandatory. it gives you time to get acquainted with your new toy.

I bought a used one from a fellow forumite and have no complaints. I like the way it feels in my hand. My experience with folders is limited since this is only my third. Just make sure the lockup is good. Like stjames said, there are alot of them out there.

I agree with James and rkellogg. Go check out other knives in it's price range and get the one you like the most. Lots of great knives out there, and the 750 is one of them.

I bouught a 750 from MJ@S Knives about two weeks ago and I've been carying it everyday. I really like this knife! The blade shape is good, holds an edge well (although I did have to muck with it a bit at first), and looks great. I really like the titanium handle. I have a thing for metal handles (not SS though) and this was my first ti handle, not my last.

There are only two types of people; those who understand this, and those who think they do.

I bought one for $99 from discountknives. The ergonomics is not as good as say, the Axis. But I think it's a great knife. Lock up is very solid and I really like the simplicity of the design. There's not much that can fould up the operation.

I did have reservations because the few that I handled in a shop almost all had some minor problems. But the one I got was perfect.

I was able to compare it along side a Sebenza and a Mission MPF. I could justify spending an extra hundred on the Sebenza, but not $325.

I think it's Benchmade's best model. Not for any one reason, but because of the knife as a whole. Maybe what I mean is that it is their best looking knife. The one I got is the sharpest knife I have ever seen, out of the box, and fit and finish were perfect. Check one out in store. If you get a good one you won't regret it.

I like mine. The only thing that bothers me is the "saw" part of my combo blade is only beveled on one side. This may be SOP, but I wonder why.

Shawn,

I don't think you can go wrong with a 750. May not have the flash and sex appeal of the axis or fancier blades but this ones a handsome worker. On my third one now, all have been excellent in execution, though all 1st. gen. lockbar, don't know bout the newer ones. I'm still looking for the right deal on a non-ser. satin one, still not sold on the long term benefit of the bt2 coat. Best of luck to you in your search.

Yea, me too now with an eye out for a sebenza.

I have to agree with what I've heard. I have a 750 and I think it is a good high quality utility knife. The catch is that like most Benchmades, you have to check it out to see if it is a good one. Auger, virtually all serrated knives are only sharpened on one side. The reason I've heard is that doing two sides would raise the price considerably.

The ergonomics is not as good as say, the Axis.
I'm of the opposite opinion. Apart from closing, and perhaps opening, it, the 750 is better -- for me.

As with all Benchmade products, it is not very maintenance friendly unless you want to void the warranty. It does not adjust as some other Integral knives do.
