i just bouught one of these, but havent recieved it yet. just wondering what everyone thinks about them and how they compare to other framelocks (i know i know, its not a sebenza).

I wish that Benchmade would bring back the 750 in some form. It was a great design, but needs improvements, IMHO.

Mine has a plain ATS-34 blade. The lockup is great, and there's no play. The frame is rock solid, but like the sebbie, scratches with use. I don't like the plastic back spacer. It deploys swiftly.

If I could improve it I would:
-make it available in tip-up or tip-down ambidextrous carry.
-go to S30V steel
-ambi-thumb lug.
-titanium backspacer, but retain the serrations for better purchase.

I've heard other people complain about this knife but I like mine, smooth opening and solid lockup. It's a pre production so maybe the QC slipped later on.

I've got one that I beat the tar out of for several years. I mean, really beat the heck out of it. Its still in good shape other than the lock being about worn out. It locks up tight but it goes about 90% of the way across the tang now.
It was the subject of several flame wars, but mostly because the sebenza addicts didn't like their knives being compared to it. Lot of folks called it a poor mans sebenza. I wouldn't know about that, but its a hell of a user and not a bad price for how its made.

The early models with the wide style lock bar are fine knives if you get a good specimen. They thinned the lock bar after a time to simplify the production problems they had with the lock-up. Hit and miss production quality sums it up.
