I've considering get the Benchmade 761, but I heard that it has a rather weak detent.
How weak is it? is it like a deassisted Kershaw Blur? Should I just skip the 761 and get a ZT 0562?
I can deal if its similar to a deassisted blur

Thanks

There are very mixed reports. My 761 detent is as strong as my two Spyderco Militarys and stronger than my Benchmade 760 Lum. The 761 is not a flipper so it does not compare to a ZT.

Thanks for the reply, I was considering the 562 but then saw the 761.
I did some research and found out about the weak detent.

I'm glad to hear that its not as weak as I thought

My 761 is of the second batch (non-numbered, no first production markings) and the detent is very strong. I can shake the knife vigorously and the blade will not come out.

It is a sweet folder.

I have a second-run (non numbered) 761 and the detent holds perfectly for me now that I centered my blade. My 761 came with the blade angled slightly away from the lock side. The detent did not hold as well when it was misaligned. After I centered the blade the detent works great. In order to get it to open without touching the thumb stud now I have to hold it in my hand tip up and flick it down as quick and hard as I can and usually on the second attempt I get the knife to open. It's plenty tight, I do not expect it to open accidentally.
