Hey guys, im curious if any of you have developed any problems or what do you like or dislike after having one of these knives for a while. I search the internet and all the stuff i see is reviews of the knives when they first came out. Im more interested in the 765.

Hi everyone,
Resurrecting this thread because I have the exact same question as the OP. Now that some of you have been using the 765 for a while, I'd love to hear your long term thoughts and comparisons, positive and negative. I almost picked one up today at a pretty good price, but I backed off when I noticed the shoulder on the lock bar, which seemed bizarre to me.

Thanks!

Man, i forgot I posted this. Its still not much info on the 765 that I can find. I just bought a Sebenza instead since I couldn't find much info.

Yeah, I understand. The size/profile/weight/materials/deployment on the 765 are awesome for EDC. I'm just not sure on the longevity of the novel lock bar/stop pin.

Any long term 765 users out there willing to chime in?

I just got one, and so far I only have two gripes:

1) The detent on mine is quite pronounced. Given the bearings, it's not easy to open the knife slowly.

2) The lock bar is stiff and slightly edgy.

Those two things mildly dissuade me from sitting on the couch, opening and closing it over and over. ...But only mildly ;)

I put a 15-degree 1000-grit finish on mine, and I'm hugely impressed with the M390.

Cypress!!! Send that bad boy in and in a bit over a week you'll have it back operating perfectly!!
I have a 761 and it is a literal JOY!! Had mine for bout a year.
It is in incredibly stupid smooth!! Opens up faster than my Pro Tech autos and locks up TIGHT!!
The thing that impressed me the most with it is the blade! It came out of the box wicked screaming sharp with an even edge!!! It is one of the best out & out super slicers I have!!
I sent mine out for an anodize job......love it even more now!

That is a GREAT color, Palonej!

Also, I discovered that the strong detent was just me holding the knife in just the right sport to increase pressure on the lockbar, and subsequently, the detent. Moving my pointer finger about 0.5 cm solved the "problem" :o

I have both. I've opened the 765 enough that the detent is less aggressive than when I first got it - the detent was a little tight in the beginning but after opening it 1000 or so times it is perfect :^)

Curious Sam, any issues with the lock bar or stop pin?

Thanks!
