  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Rosconey, I think the short answer is they just didn't sell that well. That's probably related to the fact that they cost as much as the big 3-4" blade Benchmades.

I've got the green G10 handled D2 limited edition 770 - it is absolutely my favorite gents knife.

I'm with Nick Hyle, they must not've sold well enough well enough to keep the line running.

But damn, they're sweet. I've got the 770 in carbon fiber, it's one of my fave gent's knives.

Like both previous posts, I think that sales dictated the fate of the 77x series. I think the 806D2 also fell to the same fate. The 806 is a great knife but I just don't think that the sales were enough to keep it going. It's too bad to, it is a great knife and so is the 77x.

I have a 773BC1 and I love it, very smooth action and a sharp little sucker to boot.

They may not have sold al;l that well, but I consider my 770 with carbon fiber scales to be my ultimate Gent's Pocketknife.

It just occurred to me, the 77x series were the only knives Benchmade sold that used the "miniaturized" Axis Lock. That's a lot of model-specific tooling and parts inventory to keep around; they would've had to sell pretty well to be worth keeping around.
