It took about three weeks of research trying to find the right knife for me and where to spend a one time four hundred plus dollars. I wanted American made for sure. I wanted no plastic or G10 scales. I wanted something different from the millions of frame locks out there and what I had in my small collection already.

I wanted a company with a fantastic warranty which made it a close call between Benchmade and Protech and one of there limited editions. Anyways now the wait begins, I called them and they said they are hoping to release the knives by late February early March. I sure hope so! So anyone else here deciding to get one or thinking it is to expensive.

I really like the 781, but there is no way on God's green Earth am I going to spend $500 on a Benchmade!! That is custom territory, as well as Mid-Techs.

Well that was my budget and I literally could not find anything else out there I liked. And I did not want want a frame lock which seems to be all the custom makers are only making.

Am I the only one who has a good enough relationship with someone to get stuff at below MAP? I am waiting on this now and it's costing me $350.

I can usually get stuff at 25% pretty easily, but that would be $375 and was still more than I was willing to pay for the Anthem. It's a good looking knife, and I'd like to try one out, just think $300-$325 would be my price range on it. Maybe it will turn out to be better than I'm expecting and actually worth the asking price, I'm just not convinced yet.

If it was $300, or thereabouts, I definitely would've pre ordered one.
I can also get below MAP pricing. As soon as the word on FF & action comes in, I'll order it if that word is good.
The word will most likely be very good! I felt the same way about the 761. Over $300 for a BM??? For me, it is worth every penny! That bad boy has the smoothest action I have ever felt, period!
Who am I trying to kid Corey???? I will definitely be picking one up!!
True Liberty!!! Please get that good word to us as soon as you can!

Off-topic but what is that white-handled knife you have in your collection?

On-topic, I'm like a few others here in liking the 781 but not at that price.

I want this knife.

I think it's expensive, but worth its price. I just don't have $425 to spend on a knife now. Maybe on the secondary market one day!

In addition to this question, I'm trying to figure out what the two folders are in between all the multi-tools

Thats just a horrible cell phone picture. Here is a moderately better cell phone picture of the Wild Steer Knife.

If the F&F is amazing, the action is super smooth with no blade play whatsoever and all that- then I will gladly pay the price and then some. I will be waiting to hear reviews. I do love the blade shape though.

I'm hoping people are blown away by the 781. It's definitely pricey, but factory titanium and the Axis lock don't come along every day. I may well end up with one...

Well, I mean, if it's the ULTIMATE Axis lock knife I could be tempted, but it really better have the fit and finish of a Sebenza.

Awesome- thank you

Now if we can only figure out the one with the blue ano'd clip.........

Wish this forum had a icon at the top showing you have had responses to your posts. If does I can't find it. Anyways that one you are asking about is from Real Steel the Puukko 3.

A friend texted me today that he preordered one of these. Pretty excited to get to check it out.
