i just finished watching this one.

anyone else have one have anything more to share about it?

I do not have personal experience to share but i will share my opinion based off that video

While it is a beautiful knife There is no way i would ever consider paying that amount for a production folder or any folder that has blade play and needs disassembly to smooth out. The pocket clip is worthless on thin pants like dress pants and it may or may not stay in jeans. I guess it depends on how tight your jeans are

The material and machineing back up the price point but the QC and or design fail for a $400 + folder

Just my opinion of course :)

Disassembly wasn't needed to smooth out. He disassembled to remove some of the lube. I spoke with author of the video and the blade play was due to the lack of Loctite used as the pivot was backing out. Upon adding Loctite and tightening the pivot down blade play was gone. The smoothing out issue is common with most any knife in my experience. The pocket clip should be easy enough to remove and bend to the desired tension. While it really shouldn't have any of these issues on a $400 plus knife they are fairly simple to correct but the disassembly was not necessary to correct any of them.

I was so tempted to nitpick your opinion on this...but I agree completely. A little different, but I had to take apart a $300+ knife(much more limited production than this 781) because the deployment was inconsistent. Turns out it shipped from the factory with little or no lubrication and the pivot was loctited down to an unreasonable level. It's now at least the same, if not better than shown in videos the company used for advertising the knife.

Weird things happen on the assembly line from time to time. Especially in a company that's apparently been working to turn their QC around across the board.

Looks like an interesting blade. Kinda like the chevron titanium. On my shopping list!
