This local shop has a first production one in stock for 199 I was wondering if it is worth it to buy it? Sick knife too.

I say yes you should. It is in my pocket alongside my small sebbie right now. The recurve blade and high grind make it slice very, very well. Even better than my 710 and my spydercos from my experience. I'm not a huge fan of AO but on this blade it is well executed. The only problem was mine did not come razor sharp and the recurve is not the easiest blade shape to sharpen.

Ya This one isn't so sharp either but it's a very nice blade. I wanted to get a para 2 but IMO this is much prettier.

Would you say the monolock is weak? I was about to order one tomorrow, and I just watched a video of a guy claiming that the titanium lock is too thin. There are not many videos out there to compare.

I like mine - #22x of 1,000. It gets it's nickname - 'Lerch' - honestly - the A/O works real well! That is my chief fault with it. No BM Ti framelock can measure up after you've had and used a 630 Skirmish for a few years. For that matter, my Kershaw 1725SG2 (Ti/SG2 JYDII) and ZT-0551 also have what I consider an optical illusion re the Ti framelock flexure cut-out. Simply stated, the bevelled edge on the outside makes the thin section appear thinner than it actually is. I don't mistreat my folders - or fbs... much. In any case, I've sprung one cheap linerlock - never a good one, much less a frame lock. Mine came fairly sharp - and is easily returned to that sharpness - a part-time armhair popper - with the Sharpmaker's white file edges - just keep them clean. I find it very difficult to finish up a complex curved edge on the file flats. I don't carry my 790 as much as I initially did - the 755 MPR has taken the limelight. My main peeve, as I have said, is the A/O.
