Benchmade 806 axis vs Microtech Socom Elite M/A

2 very close knives, imho, i love them both, that said, i like the SOCOM elite better, mostly because they both fit my hand well, but like the looks of the SOCOM elite better myself..........both work great/lock up fine/good steel/good ergos, cant go wrong w/either 1....get both.

either one is a great knife, 2 of my all time favs

I like my benchmades and am debating on another right now but I would give a lot to get back my SOCOM that was stolen. Simply an amzing knife. BM are greta but fit, finish, edge, and overall feel of a SOCOM is hands down the winner.

Thanks corwin! As I've said before this place is a welth of knowledge!
So basically though it's a liner lock... I really don't like those much but the axis is stellar. ;)

well, a liner lock on steroids, maybe, the elite has the micobar, the SOCOM does not (mine anyway) and the microbar, imho, is ALMOST like a frame lock, its so big/long/etc. i dont think ya would ever have any probs w/it, mine locks as solid as ANY knife i own, prod/or custom.

both are good, if i could have only one though, i would get the elite myself, FWIW

Not all liner locks are equal. Microtech's use a lot more steel to keep their knives open and use springs and pivots instead of a metal liner with tension. Sometimes you don't need to reinvent the wheel, just to get better tires.
