So, I have an old Benchmade 806 D2 that's seen better days. Does anyone know where to get a replacement blade or maybe have the current one re-finished? Is that even possible?

As it turns out, they do not provide warranty on any finishes. They also do not have any replacement blades available and cannot offer any assistance of any kind (other than to sharpen it) since it is a discontinued model. Bummer, right?

This is not entirely correct.

BM does not have replacement blades for this model. They've had replacement blades for disco'ed models, just not this particular. And they will not warrany the blade coating.

I know of someone who sent an 806 D2 w/ a broken tip in..A replacement blade was found after being told there weren't any...years ago, but well after being disco'ed.. not very likely now.

BM will provide full service/tune...replace parts if available..(all should be, even the Omega springs..minus the blade and scales)..and sharpen at no cost.

I'd call...not email, and they will sort you out. Excellent CS.

OP, I have a fresh set of 806 D2 blk G-10 scales. If you plan on keeping the knife because you love it. (The 806D2 is a favorite and my most carried modern) I would offer you the scales, screw set and stock plastic back spacer...shipping on me.

Hit me up if you need them.

Let us know how you make out.

There is a Benchmade sub forum on board..CS mods there.

Pics would be great.

Edit to add: Mo2 is correct. Josh at RE does outstanding work. I'd send it in to BM, get services...then send it to Josh for a blade re work..

I sent my 806 in last year for a general service. Since the blade tip was broken, I called them on the off chance they had a replacement blade. Turns out they did have a few blades in S30v.

I was actually able to talk them into sending my old D2 blade back with the knife, told them (truthfully) it had a lot of miles and memories on it. Now I can’t bring myself to use the brand new blade and keep carrying it with the D2 one.

Here’s a picture of the new blade. I think it was left over from a limited edition run back when S30V was still cool. Customer service like this makes me keep coming back to Benchmade.
