Benchmade 806D2 coat removal

I removed the blade and used a product called Aircraft Stripper (I think ). Spray it on and let it sit about 20 minutes and then take a scotchbrite pad and go to town. Wear some kind of rubber gloves though cause that stuff burns pretty nasty! It may take a few cycles to get it all off and maybe some 600 grit and up sandpaper to get the finish you want.

Let us know if you need any more info :)

Edit: D2 doesn't "need" a coating, but since D2 "isn't" or is "semi" stainless, it is put on to help prevent corrosion. As long as water isn't left on it for several hours, it will be fine.

Buff the hell out of it! :D

I put it back!

Drew it by hand in Corel. If you look closely, you'd find it isn't exactly the same as either the old Benchmade logo, or the new Benchmade logo.

FYI, the finish isn't so hot under the coating, so I'd give it a satin finish by hand, unless you want to leave the orange peel look. (which can be kind of cool)

I was watching some late night knife porn last night but look at that chick up there.

Its orgazmic :)
