Once again, today the UPS truck screeches to a halt in front of my house, the neighbors roll their eyes, and I am soon giddy with excitement! :D This is probably the only 806D2 Axis Lock AFCK with a high polished blade. I have to admit, with this one I had my cake and got to eat it too: I have a strong dislike for the BT2 coating but wanted to get an 806D2. I am extremely happy - this is THE knife I have waited 3 years for from Benchmade. Ever since they unleashed the 710, I have been dreaming of an AFCK shod with he Axis and without a black blade. This is a dream come true for me. OK I must now free up my hands for more fondling of my new toy :)
 
OK Dexter. You know how much I like the axis AFCK. You also know how much I HATE BT2 :barf: How did you manage to get one with a satin finish? Do you think it will be an available option or am I out of luck?
 
Dennis - it involved a LOT of phone calls with begging and pleading.... :p Nah, I just asked if I could order one without a BT2 blade. I dislike that stuff too :barf: Right now, they have no plans on making this one available with a satin finish. But if you guys email and call them inquiring about it, they might make a limited run or even add satin to their options. I'm not saying they will, just stating that you guys need to voice your opinions to them. This is how the Axis AFCK got started in the first place - lotsa guys, including myself, have been bugging the company to add the Axis to this model. So, you have to let your voices be heard!
 
That is a superb looking folder. I agree with you about the BT-2 coating. I don't care for it at all. In the satin finish that knife is really sweet.
 
Looks pretty nice, except for that chicken scratching on the bevel, right there in the middle of the blade. :)

Very nice knife!! I actually just left Travis a message the other day about the possibility of getting one buffed out in lieu of the coated blade..

I sent an email to Benchmade and told them how much I liked this knife. They emailed me back and said that they had no plans on making it a regular option, but that if enough people contacted them and make it clear that they wanted this finish on the blade that they just might do a limited edition run. So everyone that would like to see this knife become available should contact Benchmade and let them know. You can make a difference.
