benchmade 885 Dark Star

What can everyone tell me about the 885 Dark Star?
The one I have is the 1/2 serrated blade and marked on the blade Preproduction run 0726/1000.
I know they have been discontinued for
over a year or so, and I was told they are somewhat collectible by benchmade.
any information will be helpfull

Any discontinued model is "somewhat collectible". The 885 is actually the mini dark star, with the 880 being the full size version. They were the successor of the 875 sentinel, but they didn't succeed very well. They were only put out for 2 or 3 years before being DC'd.

I have one of the Pre-pros too, but only so I can say I have one for the collection. It holds no extra value, and to me, it actually holds less since it's PS. I like my blades plain edged personally.
