Anyone own this knife or have comments? I like the looks, would consider it vs either 710 or 730/735 Ares.

Also, anyone have any comments on the durability of their BT (black teflon) coating?

I had the Darkstar version of this knife, which I believe is almost identical in size and materials. I like it in that it had a good grip, smooth action, Ti liners.

I was really siked when these knives came out, but after handling quite a few I have noticed that none of the ones I sampled had inconsistant QC. The blades wern't centered on any of them. The rest of the knife was fine. I checked out 10 of them, and couldn't find one good one. The other problem was there is only one thumbstud. Did BM forget there are lefty users out there? If they ended up fixing the blade center problem it would be a nicer knfe.

I wouldn't buy a BM linerlock, though i must say the Blue Star has caught my eye a few times.
Benchmade's BT2 will rub off if you cut through cardboard with the knife, it's that bad, and it'll look like crap after a few days. I don't think it would be that hard for BM to come up with a coating that both does the job and doesn't make your 'high-end' production knife look like a POS.
If you're going to buy a Benchmade, my advice is to get one with the axis lock and without the BT2.
Happy shopping :)
