Is it possible to make the Benchmade 890 Torrent a manual knife instead of a
Nitrous assisted? If i do this will the blade have no handle retention? I know some may say if it doesnt have enough handle retention just tighten the pivot. I tried making my kershaw leek a manual knife but there was no handle retention, so i tightened the pivot. Even though i tightened the pivot it would come out fairly easy and if i tightened it too much, it was hard to open even with lubrication. Please don't ask me why i would want a manual over an assisted knife, i have my reasons.

All you need to do is disassemble the knife and remove the pin that connects the two parallel spring arms. It ought to function just fine without it. I tried it on one once to see if it did, and it turns it into a regular liner lock. Just don't lose the parts in case you want to change it back!

I don't actually have this knife, thats why i wanted to know before i buy it. But when i buy this knife soon, i will ask you for help if i need any.

Sure, though I doubt you'll need it--it's super simple. All you do is unscrew the scale and liner and pull that pin/bushing out. :)
