Benchmade 9000 afo

I got this bench made 9000 afo at a yard sale. It has the balisong emblem on one side of the blade with the butterfly. And on the other side it has in small letters benchmade u.s.a. I can't find a picture of one exactly like it on the internet, though it is the same exact model as the 9000. Were there ever knock offs of these knives that would have stamped the bench made logo on it? It feels really nice and is very strong and locks up tight. Is it just a really early version? I want to sell it but I want to make sure it's real. I got aspyderco civilian at the same place and that is definitely real.
