I got this little guy at a pawn shop a while back and I know almost nothing about it except that I got a smoking deal on it. What do all the hardcore benchmade fan think? It's a plain satin tanto blade and the g10 is almost smooth... Would it make a good trade option? It's very nice for its age. Just curious guys!
Thanks!!!!!

That's a nice knife. Circa '98 as said above, it's an Elishewitz design and hard to find in plain edge. As unmarked, the blade steel would be ATS-34. If the knife is in good shape, (a photo or two would be nice), it would make for a good trade if not a keeper.

Hope that helps.

Ok, noob/stupid question time: How the heck do I post pics?? Does it require a paid membership, or fancy programming skills?? I'll check the BF FAQ, but when I joined, I couldn't find any clear answers.
And yeah, I'll probably try to trade this little guy, though I still think it's a cool piece of BM history. :)

I EDC'd one of the mini Strykers for a while until '99 when the 710 and 705 came out. Having fallen in love with the Axis, the 705 became my EDC, since I prefer sub-3" blades for carry (another reason I loved the mini-Stryker).

That said, what I loved about the Stryker was that, at the time, it was the smallest BM with ti liners (comparably-sized BM mini's had 410 stainless liners), and the more obtuse tanto tip made it more like a drop point for me to sharpen.

The mini-Stryker's a great knife. Yeah, you could probably get a few bucks for it, but I'd keep that gem and work it in to your EDC rotation. Just my .02.

Prof.

I've still got mine that I bought in 98. It was my daily carry for a number of years. It still rides in my car as an extra. the lock bar is all the way over but there's no rock lock and it's still solid. A lot of wear on that thing and it's cut a LOT of stuff. Great knife in my opinion.

I have been looking for this knife for years and have never scored one.:(. My good friend has one and I have offered him cash and knives several times and still a no go. It is a classic for sure and some day I hope to own one. Nice score!

Here's what I got, more on the way!:

Id be willing to part with it if the right Becker came along! ;) I know this little guy is worth something!

My Knife of the Month 905 was $129 in 2000 as a special edition. You can't buy these anymore, so "worth" is subjective. BUT, if you had the original box, you would have quite the valuable find (to the right person). This is the second time in 4 months that someone has unearthed an almost BNIB 905... Did I miss a memo?

Mine is still as smooth as the day I bought it. Albeit, lockup is a little advanced.

This is the exact knife I have been wanting for a long time! Lucky dog! Identical to my buddies knife too!

Yeah, I know I scored! :D
I feel bad for the poor sap that had to part with it and probably only got $20-$40 for it...
I'm hoping to trade it for a new Becker (not a neck knife), ZT, or at least with some micarta grips for a couple Beckers...
I'll have to see... it's "value" can only go up, and it'll sit in the safe until I find a new home for it. :)

I believe benchmade is rereleasing this knife for those that missed out the first time around, check out their new knives on their webpage.

Well, mine is in the Stryker family, and those have always been popular, but I don't see the 905, as I have it, being re-released, at least from what I just saw from the website and catalog. Maybe I missed it...

A re-release?? Would be epic! Count me for at least 6 of them. Satin plain for me!
