Anyone had any experience with the Benchmade Nitrous Styker?
I am considering buying it but it is a little high to buy as an experiment.

I've got both a 912D2 and 913D2 and prefer the 913's blade shape to the tanto. They are great knifes and the D2 keeps a good edge. If you haven't experienced the Nitrous assist, it may suprise you. It 'fires' like an auto after opening the blade just a bit -- very fast and snappy. The lock-up on the Strykers is solid w/o play. Mine needed to break-in a little and got a bit smoother and faster as I played with them.

My bottom line is the 913 is a quality knife and worth the money.

I bought one, but I found that they nitrous spring, which acts as the stop pin, didn't hold the blade firmly enough (when closed) and allowed me to squeeze the blade into the spacers on the back of the knife, resulting in a small notch. I sent it back.

I would send it back too. The spring is not the blade stop, there is a small-diameter pin just above the pivot that acts as the closed stop. It looks like yours must have fallen out.

I examined it pretty closely before I sent it back, and I'm pretty sure the spring was all that was there to stop the blade, and it definitely flexed backwards, allowing the blade to touch one of the spacers. Unfortunately this was my second benchmade in a row, which had exhibited this type of problem, earlier in the year I ordered a 14205 which touched, and had to be exchanged, and then the 913, so I just got a refund... Two in a row was one too many. Eventually I might pick up another 913... time will tell.
