Hello fellas
What do you all think about the new Benchmade 915 Triage for LEO carry? Seen here: http://www.benchmade.com/products/915
As you can see its got a sheepsfoot blade, seatbelt cutter and carbide glassbreaker. On paper it looks like a great blade for duty-carry. Or do you think it is geared more towards EMT's/firefighters? Should the LEO stay with a regular primary blade and a multitool?
Pros:
Everything in one package! Been missing a glassbreaker in my kit.
Sheepsfoot blade minimizes the risk for accidental stabbing in a high-stress situation.
Axis lock strength (?, havent owned one, just going by recommendation)
Cons:
Relatively heavy. Annoying when carried in shirt breast-pocket.
Axis-lock (breakage of spring? Again, going by userfeedback)
Too cluttered (better with a separate seatbelt-cutter and knife? When deployed, can one be confused for another in a high-stress situation?)
Thickness (i prefer slim blades...carries much better)
The lack of a tip bothers me, but one the other hand, i cant remember the last time i had to stab something during my cutting chores.
Any thoughts on this particular knife and its N680 steel? I havent heard much about this steel. Any steel-gurus here that wishes to chime in?
PLEASE NOTE: I dont want to discuss the pros/cons of the axis-lock. Theres already a very informative thread being discussed right now.
