I saw that my favorite BenchMade has been discontinued. I feel like the kid back in 1919 who pled with Shoeless Joe Jackson to, "Say it ain't so, Joe." I love that knife and it is one of my favorite EDCs when I am where I may legally carry a blade over 3". I hope that they give some thought to replacing it with a similar model, one with a second little pen knife blade and with scales in a color other than black.

You might try the usual BladeForums solution to your problem, Hugh.

You have already done Step I: complain.

Now on to Step II: buy 4 or 5 in various colors before they all disappear.

:D

I don't think that they made it in any colors but the blue and I already have one in that color. I may buy another, however. Thanks for the thought, Shaldaq.

Hugh,

They made it in blue, with limited editions in grey, white, red, green, silver, black, and purple. Then it was offered as a production piece in black as well as blue. Now it's not offered.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but it has been out of production for a couple of years :o . In fact, it had already been discontinued before I ever saw one. The main blade is good, but the small blade is too fragile to be useful for me.

I find that small blade perfect for picking out splinters, stitches, and other such nitpicking detail work.

Yeah, but I snapped one off cutting silicone caulk off the edge of ceramic tiles. Had to finish the job with a Case Wharncliffe mini-copperhead (the main blade of which is nearly identical in size, shape and thickness to the BM blade I broke). That's why I say it is too fragile to be useful to ME ;)
